Excerpts from a Burned Letter
Freelance cover design created for Joelle Barron’s upcoming book, Excerpts from a Burned Letter, released by Nightwood Editions.
Design Brief:
The author wanted a vintage feel that evoked vintage romance novel covers, especially salacious queer vintage covers.

Custom Gift Books
This custom book was created for a client who had written it for his daughter’s birthday.
This client submitted his story to me as an unedited Microsoft Word document. I copyedited the story for clarity, grammar and spelling. I also divided the story into segments to go with the ten illustrations provided, deciding where to put page breaks and paragraph breaks.
I was in charge of typesetting and design for the piece. I also designed and bound the book in its leather cover with a custom lasercut wood panel bearing the title.

I was particularly proud of the custom title font I physically created for the fictional How I’m Dealing with the End of the World.
